Dr Ron Paul tries again to warn America of an impending financial collapse and other troubles

In yet another attempt, Dr Ron Paul is trying to warn the citizens of America of the impending financial crisis which is set to befall us all. He has tried time and again to help us see the direction this great nation is heading, and as is so often the case, we ignore him in preference of the latest celebrity gossip.

In spite of the efforts of this one, good man - and others like him – my fellow Americans are headed for unprecedented levels of political and financial turmoil, the likes of which will make our last Great Depression of the 30's look like a Sunday picnic. Yes, we the privileged populace of the United States have neglected our responsibilities in lieu of little more than the mental candy fed to us through the idiot-box we call television.

My apologies if I'm not being fun enough for you. Even though this posting has nothing to do with Kim Kardashian's latest tattoo, or anything from sports celebrities, I still hope you'll take the time to read what I'm sharing. My neighbors need to be prepared. My friends and family need to be ready. I'd even like to see my enemies make it through the upcoming troubles.

So, if there's ever been a good time to be at least the slightest bit scared, to be unsettled enough to ignore the endless chatter of celebrity news, it is now. Whether any of you want to wake up to the reality around you or not, I'm hoping you'll heed the latest warning from Dr Ron Paul:

“We can evade reality. But we cannot evade the consequences of evading reality.”

Okay, are the various American media heading for a government takeover, too?

Will the News of the World scandal result in a federal takeover of American media outlets, and web publishing? Might the current, modern, American mind be so softened yet, as to allow our government to create a state media nightmare right here in the U.S. Of A.?

According to the report on ”L.A Times” 'Murdoch and son to appear before Parliament committee' (July 14th, 2011), the violations by staffers and/or contractors with the now-defunct “News of the World” are of such an egregious nature, the editorial staff is being called before British Parliament for testimony.

Such an outrageous nature was the privacy violations that, should President Obama wish to seek federal oversight of the American media and Internet publishing, it's likely he should find support. If he wins a re-election bid, he'd be sitting as a lame duck president, and might just risk it all to get it. Who knows, never letting a crisis go to waste, American authoratarianism might just demand he go for it.

How many other industries in the US have there been ruined, or are being ruined, by recent government "oversight?" All of the were in response to the stories carried, and focused upon, by mainstream American news outlets.

Speak out against it, should you see it. There are so many smaller, less-crucial matters we should have cried out against, that now it's coming soon, to this. Admittedly, I only sorta feel it in my bones. My fears could be total crap. There's a chance that even President Obama wouldn't commit an overt takeover of the media, in America, right? Somebody, please tell me I'm wrong. I only hope I'm not way too late.

How an atheist can empathize with the slightly-more-primitive sorts in society, and why they might want to

Being an atheist myself, I once was mad at religion-in-general. It angered me to be in a world where “faith” was considered a virtue, and actual, real-world laws existed (not all, just some), which affect my life, based solely on religious preferences. I was ticked off over the violence, and the fraud committed in the alleged name of (insert relic here). But, no more.

Gone now, are those days of being mad about the religion of others, forcibly being a part of my own reality, since now, I own my own reality (we can haz cookies too) and am the absolute master of all I accept. No more will I, as an atheist, be cruel or crude to the hopelessly mystical/mystified. Such anger is all together too much of a waste of much-needed resources like time and sanity/focus/bearing.

We non-believers might want to consider the predicament most people are in, as well as that of humanity in general, over these last few million years, or so. First off, even if humanity, as a species, has been saying there are no imaginary sky daddies up there for 3,000 years, the realization itself, is still relatively new to most of the world. We've had a million times as many years as a primitive creature, than we've had as a modern, self-aware being, and there will be growing pains.

Over time, even the most religious of people, will come to one day understand that, as they rant they will be ignored. They'll find themselves speaking to only the trees, and their personal shill followers, as the rest of the world merely continues on. There's just no more need to hate the various religions of this planet. They cannot help it.

Imagine being (as your ancestors were) a primitive human, coming into those first few glimmers of self-awareness, tens-of-thousands of years ago. Perhaps during one evening of those all-too-random moments, you notice a particularly pesky, flying insect – and you swat at it. It's ability to maneuver as a response to its tactile senses of the currents of air happen too fast for you primate brain to process, and it appears the bug exists and doesn't exist, all at the same time. A formation of thoughts towards all-things-”spiritual” was actually the best guesses ancient man had at the time towards those things of nature which we could not understand.

Thus this same guessing process happened towards other mysteries as well. Couldn't explain the Sun? God ®. Why do the leaves fall, when it's cold? God®. Where did all of this come from? Obviously, God®. The problem isn't really so much with people having made their best guesses, until they learned better. What causes a problem for those of us who've crawled out of the box is when the guessing mechanism is mis-used by those with a taste for control of others, at various times through history.

From this day forward, I've no desire to attack the people themselves, who've been drawn in by the false security and the optional illusions of God®. But when a false statement is made to, or about me, I'll still respond. I just won't be going at it with a heavy hand. I'm sure those folks at ThinkAtheist are relieved to hear that Dad's not such an angry ass anymore. They win.

It's worth being kinder and gentler to the religious sorts in society. Just because they're following the traditions and customs they couldn't help but be raised up in, doesn't preclude the fact of most of them are the kindest, most well-intentioned people humanity has. Heck, even I can see some of the good things churhes have acheived, regardless of their reasons- or other errors made. Jimi Hendrix had so much right. We're all just misunderstood.

What could be worse than the Casey Anthony verdict? Our response to it.

We all read the surprising news on July 5th, 2011. Casey Anthony was determined to be not guilty, by a jury of her peers, in a Florida courtroom. The prosecution failed to meet the burden of proof beyond a reasonable doubt, and the jury had to acquit. What could be worse than a woman who is believed to have murdered her own daughter getting off Scot-free?

I can tell you of a few things worse than this. For starters, there seems to be some tirade of hyper-emotional demands to do away with the jury system. That jury system is what often stands between we citizens, and an all-too-often corrupt government system. Take away our jury system, and it becomes too convenient for those in power to simply eliminate dissidents and political adversaries with false charges. It's also what stands in between you and those who would make up false charges against you. Believe me. It happens. Lives are destroyed every day, all over America, by people drumming up false accusations.

What else can be worse than the Casey Anthony acquittal? How about folks who exploit the death of this poor little girl, to advance their personal political agenda? I've seen so-called conservatives calling the members “stupid liberals,” and I've seen so-called liberals calling the jurors “stupid conservatives.” All I can conclude is this government worship must be as bad of a mental disease as religion itself. I must have bumped three dozen people off of my Fb friends list today alone.

I've seen calls for violence towards the defense attorneys. I've seen folks dumb enough to state publicly, their desire to hurt Casey Anthony. (Geez, people, you're dumb enough to put it in writing? ON FACEBOOK? You deserve everything you get for that bone-headed of a move.) Where's the righteous indignation when any other killer gets off-the-hook? Is it just easier to make threats because she's female? Are you animals too scared of the others to make such threats?

It was the prosecution who failed to meet their burden of proof. It was a team of government-funded bureaucrat attorneys who assumed they had a slam-dunk case, due to the emotional charge surrounding this drama these last two and-a-half years, and so rested on their laurels. It was the state of Florida which chose to over-bill the charge, and then present a case resembling a giant block of Swiss cheese.

So, to those who “think” we need to eliminate the jury system because those 12 Americans did their duty, while prosecutors did not, please kiss my pimply, hairy, white ass. Our justice system is more than a coliseum for the satisfaction of the blood-lust of simpletons and fools. Why blame the jurors, for the failings of the prosecution?

I'm not saying Casey Anthony is innocent – not by any means – so do not try to put words in my mouth. Frankly, I think she killed her baby, and it makes me as sad as everyone else. But there's no way in hell throwing out the best system on Earth is the right answer. Our only reasonable option is to now decide to not buy any book she writes, or any movie she contributes to, and leave her to live and die alone in her own house of shit. We must simply move on, as unfair as the Casey Anthony verdict may be.
