Morgan Geyser and Anissa Weier Arrested; Unsuspecting 12-Year-Old Girl Stabbed 19 Times by Friends

COMMENTARY | Perhaps this could be considered evidence little kids can't handle life on the Internet unsupervised. I've just learned of the horrifying story of a 12-year-old girl, allegedly lead into the woods in Waukesha, Wisconsin, by two others she believed to be her friends and stabbed a total of 19 times.

According to KMOV, her suspected attackers, Morgan Geyser and Anissa Weier are charged as adults for charges of attempted first-degree intentional homicide and bail has been set for each at $500,000. Of course, here in the U.S., defendants are to be considered innocent until proven guilty but, according to the police, the girls have spoken readily with police.

What's most important here though is the victim is alive after having crawled to the road and was discovered by a bicyclist.

This case may very well demonstrate the danger of leaving impressionable children unsupervised online. According to police the two girls were attempting to impress an as-yet-unidentified poster to a website called Creepypasta Wiki, known only as “Slenderman,” who said the only way to “climb up into his realm” was to kill somebody. The site's niche is horror stories.

While hipsters and children everywhere might not like the idea, I'm inclined to believe children might be no more prepared to process an unsupervised online life than they are able to deal with the effects of alcohol or sex at this young of an age. They're welcome to disagree, of course but who cares? They know nothing of life yet. For all their “great-sounding ideas and opinions” they've not been tested by life.

Parents, monitor your children online. They'll have time enough for multiple friends and making their own mistakes in life. But they only get one set of parents, if that much. Do your jobs and raise them so they survive to adulthood, if at all possible.

Sunday Bible Study; John 12:24 (KJV, Red Letter Edition)

BLASPHEMY | I awoke particularly early this morning, around 3:00 a.m. In spite of not having gone to sleep until around midnight, I was wide awake and not going back to sleep. Since I was visiting a friend who had a small collection of books, it seemed the perfect companion with my coffee would be some good reading.

Over to the bookshelf I went, I wanted to find something more than the collection of religion-themed books. But, for some reason, I was drawn to a generic marketing book titled “The Seed Principle.” There was no author listed and it seemed to be another mass-produced book distributed to keep crutch-goers paying their “tithes” obediently.

(You know, the old “send me money and Gawd's gonna bless you” tactic used by prosperity-pimps like Joel Osteen and Creflo Dollar – not exactly the kind of works I normally read and still, I was compelled.)

Not understanding why I was even considering reading this woo-woo, I asked my Guides and Guardians why I was spending as much as one irreplaceable second of my life reading this, trusting them anyway, knowing they've never failed me before and something good was coming.

That's when it happened. Picture a block of text on the page standing out clearer and more vivid than the rest of the page. In typical fashion of not understanding the gist of the texts they pretended to work with, the pretenders who put together this particular book made the error of using a quote from the bible, seemingly, just because it contained the word “seed” and in spite of having nothing to do with money or prosperity in general. The quote was from The twelfth chapter of John, verse twenty-four.

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.” Here's the verse itself.

What a wonderful gift, this little line of text. It reveals much. I think, if professional preachers and apologists can use the bible to justify the scam of Christianity, it can also be used to dismantle Christianity, thereby helping at least one more fellow slave escape, hopefully.

Within the referenced verse, we have the words of Jesus himself making a statement which not only seems to be a non-sequitur to the rest of John chapter 12 but also, completely inaccurate.

When a seed is planted, the seed itself does not die. Were a seed to die, there would be no germination. No germination – no plant.

It seems to me, were this Jesus character to be anything more than just another man with anything more than the common knowledge of the era, he would have known this. Personally, with the way this particular chapter flows – as just one example – the whole story strikes me as a reverse-engineered fiction in the first place and Jesus nothing more than a convenient marketing device.

I find it particularly strange how the bible itself lacks any knowledge not available to any human who paid close attention to life. No “god” needed. This one, individual point is enough to demonstrate the bible is not, in fact, “divinely inspired” in any way. Others may try explaining it as "human error" or something "planted by Satan" to distract the faithful. But, before you do, would such an explanation not further demonstrate the bible to be as fallible as fallible can be? "Verily, verily I tell YOU," if we cannot rely upon the words of Jesus himself to be truthful, then WHY continue referring to this book as "infallible? Why?

It is time we humans finally find the courage to stand up in the face of tyrants-in-the-name-of-god once and for all, challenging its so-called infallibility. It is anything but.

And now, I must wonder if those apologists and crusaders will try again to demonstrate the mental acrobatics necessary to explain away this point and continue in their suspension of disbelief - or will I more likely see myself ignored by the devotedly self-deceptive masses, yet again? Bring me your best. I want to understand and invite you to try. If your god is a god and he made the human mind, then surely he would understand why I need evidence and would make it available to people like me.

Feel Like Beating the Crap Out of the NSA?

Nearly one year ago – June 5, 2013, Edward Snowden released his first piece of information exposing the domestic spying program of the NSA. It seemed like half the world was shocked by the revelation of a domestic spying campaign here in the “Land of the Free.” The other half sat back and regurgitated the phrase, “I have nothing to hide,” thoughtlessly and like a well-trained slave.

I truly believe there are many in the US government who might not be interested in power-lust. I say, “might not be.” But, for every decent, reasonable, thinking human in government, there are even more who can only make ecisions based on how it affects them and screw the founding documents, human rights, free expression or liberty. For each agent who might convince me to trust them, I know there are at least a dozen more who can not be...read the rest here, on Bubblews.

An Open Letter to Allegheny Township Police Assistant Chief L.J. Berg Re-post, Share, Please

Dear Chief L.J. Berg,

I've just finished reading a story about your ham-fisted, authoritarian response to a fellow American who exercised his right to protest and to speak freely. I want you to know, you are a disgusting example of abuse of power and do not deserve to wear the shiny badge or the costume which you do.

For those just now learning about this, here's the story: www.wpxi.com/news/news/local/man-facing-charges-hanging-american-flag-upside-do/nfx67/

You arrested one Joshua Brubaker for doing exactly what he is guaranteed to do under our nation's founding documents – protesting. While you and all others who lack the brain capacity to grasp the concept of free speech accuse Brubaker of “insulting” the flag, what you failed to understand is, the “desecration” of the American flag is precisely what those freedoms allow.

Here, let me give you the direct quote from our nation's founding documents: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.” www.archives.gov/exhibits/charters/bill_of_rights_transcript.html

Chief Berg, we have you – on record – saying, “I was offended by it when I first saw it. I had an individual stop here at the station, a female, who was in the military and she was very offended by it.” Do you mind showing me where the Bill of Rights of our nation protect you, or anyone for that matter, from being “offended?”

You won't be able to find it, Chief Berg. Your sensitivities and lack of understanding are not protected. However, Mr. Brubaker's rights to speak, are: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freedom_of_speech_in_the_United_States And, for your violation of his right to freely express himself, I can only hope you're forced to find another line of work where you get to impose your small-minded, petty authoritarianism on others and not on the citizens of your town.

Perhaps the local mall needs some additional security. You have no business wearing your costume or carrying a gun. A mall will support you in your clean-up efforts to control what others do, say or post onto a wall. Out in the real world, though, you have no business trying to control the words of others – only criminal behavior. Beyond this, you really need to keep your meat hooks off of others.

Actually, you just need to quit law enforcement. You're doing it wrong.

From a Friend; LG agrees to Washer Refund, but Lowes Throws a Kink

When my only months old LG washer went on the fritz in March all I wanted was to have it fixed. This meant replacing the power board within the display because of the damage from condensation. However, the repair to my washer created more problems than I ever had because of modifications to the new boards that were being manufactured. After many calls, and 3 visits from the A&E repairman, LG has decided to give me a refund. However, this is just another can of...read the rest, here.

I Want To Start A Few Small Free Libraries

Have you ever seen them on Facebook? Those little mini-libraries! Little miniature libraries, which sit on one post, from which neighbors can borrow or donate books, for others to read for free.

I wish I could legally use an image. I'll need to wait until I build one, I guess. They're not complicated, at all, really. I want to place them under awnings around Amarillo, Tx, in my neighborhood. I could re-introduc reading to a wealth of young minds.

Sponsors would fund it, too. I know of a few local businesses which would love to be seen supporting young, urban literacy.

My Next Great Long-Term Bubblews Experiment; Buying a Car

Here's an idea I know of already, but needed to be reminded of, by my Aunt &mysgeek . My Bubbles and/or other blog posts should benefit of it, my readers will benefit of it , ergo my bank balance should benefit of it too, to such an extent, Bubblews buys me a car.

It's do-able. We're only talking a grand or so, here. I'm a cheap date.

So beneficial is it, I'm aiming to buy said car with my Bubblews earnings, within just 3 months (13 weeks)! I think I'm even going to just have &Arvind “Buy Me This, in regards to a car. I'll want the evidence and who can't forget being mentioned someday, right?

Then, it would be “official.” Bubblews will have bought me a car. OOOooOOOOO I'm picturing a rich green car. Something gas-miserly. I will also have proof for my experiment too.

How's this experiment going to work, you say? What will I do to make my future posts so much more valuable, you ask? I'll tell you.

I posit, a brain will increase their earnings-per-post averages if they're...read the rest here.

Amateur Photography; Barns Around Georgetown, Kentucky

A fellow Bubbler once asked me to grab a few shots of some barns for her. Well, since I'm in Kentucky, there's no better chance to do just that.

The farms around here are amazing, although many of them no longer have what we might call a “barn” but rather, a metal building.

According to what a couple of these old horse farmers (horse ranchers?) around here tell me, the traditional wooden barn is now an endangered species. Most modern horse farms replace old barns with metal buildings and sell the barn-wood to artisans, furniture makers and flooring companies.

So, I guess grabbing a few shots of these old...go here for the rest and some more great pictures.

Today Is The Day I Must Leave; The Four Reasons

*UPDATE* In spite of my having just posted this earlier, I've encountered a delay. I will be taking off in the morning.

I must make it back up North to take care of some business for myself and for my four children. As much as I hate leaving Louisiana and Janet, I must go on the road for a good length of time. There are – for those of us fortunate enough to really live – sometimes more than it seems we can even do. But do it, we must.

Going from this world and back into that world is not easy. It is hard, lonely, sleepless work. But I have the best of four reasons to do it. I'm a fortunate man and I know it. Besides, I have nothing to fear. I am very well protected and very deeply...For the rest, go here.
