Top ten reasons to decriminalize marijuana already! by Donald Pennington

Originally published under my name at Associated Content.com from Yahoo!

I know the subject of the possibility of legal marijuana and decriminalization is a sensitive one for most folks in the world today. I also understand that millions upon millions of good people have been hurt by bad people on both sides of the law on this issue of decriminalization already. This is merely an opinion piece in regards to a very common social condition and I would strongly advise against the participation in any activity which is currently illegal even while advocating decriminalization.

Personal discussion is welcome in the form of rational, mature, respectful comments. Questions are welcome. I'll do all that I can. I'll even admit if I find myself somehow "wrong." But, can an opinion be "wrong," or can they only be different?

You might even want to investigate whether it's even legal where you are, for you to be reading this sort of an opinion piece about decriminalization, in your community. I am presenting this particular topic of decriminalization solely for the purposes of, discussion as adults, at most, but at least for your entertainment, and consideration only. We Americans should all so exercise our freedom of speech...whether on the topic of decriminalization or any other topic.

It's time for America to discuss, through proper legal channels, the decriminalization of marijuana for personal use and possession. Doesn't it make some sense to rationally discuss reasons to legalize marijuana in the first place? There might be solutions to many of our country's ills by mere decriminalization. There is often more to the analysis of any given subject of unpopular topics than what seems apparent.

I'm not bringing up the subject of decriminalization as a wannabe comedian. There are serious issues we Americans are facing that can easily be solved by decriminalization of marijuana. And when I mention the subject, I'm asking decriminalization to be considered by acceptable processes first, and even then, still never the personal use of marijuana.

It's foolish to smoke the stuff. But we should consider exploiting the market. I'm also not in support of "drugs" in general. The only substance that, should even be considered as an option for legalization, is marijuana. Tobacco should be under tighter controls than marijuana. Ideally, folks would be free of any external substance requirements in order to live long, prosperous, fulfilling lives but reality now is what it is, that decriminalization of marijuana might be a good option for public funding and other reasons discussed here today. Let's remain as totally objective as we can here.

Also, unlike 99.9975% of all other posters and bloggers speaking on the issue of marijuana decriminalization, I'm putting my usual name to it. It's something people need to speak up for if you're in support of the decriminalization of a natural substance.

I'm just hoping that folks will come to understand the details of the points I want to make today and share their views. If we all consider the points made here more of you will understand why marijuana should be legal here in the United States.

Top Ten Reasons for decriminalization of Marijuana Number Ten

I'm a Darwinian- It's a personal reason really. If somebody else is interested in spending their own personal spin on the globe smoking themselves stupid it's their right to live that way. No entity on earth, including government, should ever bear the power to tell individuals how to live or what to do with their personal bit of time in life. You can call this my own personal version of a religious viewpoint. The other reasons are based solely on logic.

Let the "peasantry" have their "buzz." If the government successfully control the pothead they will one day control the farmer. We are to be a nation founded on certain individual freedoms.

Top Ten Reasons for decriminalization of Marijuana Number Nine

Take a bite outta crime!- The units of operation that produce for their customers have enjoyed a long enough run from, the exorbitantly high mark up on their product, due to the incorrect, illegal, classification of marijuana. The organizations producing marijuana would either be forced to compete legally and legitimately or simply go out of business due to lack of certification, taxes, and other requirements. Gangs and organized crime will weaken soft.

In fact, before their demise, those groups will probably squander what fortunes they now have in an anti-decriminalization campaign to keep their profits high.

Top Ten Reasons for decriminalization of Marijuana Number Eight

Supporting industries would benefit too.- How many side businesses would spring up from any industry that millions and millions and millions of Americans support passionately?

Besides the farming, manufacturing, processing, and shipping needs of such a popular product, there will be business and cottage industries born within communities all over America. That's not even going into detail about the...

Top Ten Reasons for decriminalization of Marijuana Number Seven

...jobs.- Did somebody mention jobs? My "guesstimation" that a minimum 100 people, on average, per community, would find gainful employment, in every single community in America. In some communities, larger cities, thousands and thousands of people would find work in the legal marijuana industry.

Top Ten Reasons for decriminalization of Marijuana Number Six

Tax Dollars.- Now we have a bailout to cover. Why stick our grandchildren with it? Need we to discuss this point further? Then you just don't read enough. Sorry. I know. I know. Maybe we shouldn't have done the bailouts in the first place but we did. Now somebody's gotta pay for it.

GM and Chrysler could make a ton of federal reserve notes backing the new "green farmer."

Top Ten Reasons for decriminalization of Marijuana Number Five

By-products.- Clothing would become cheaper and of higher quality. Paper prices would drop. The edible components of the plant would lower many costs associated with food production. In fact, I'll make such a sweeping statement as: "There is no industry that would not benefit from the legalization of marijuana." Consumers would find it easier to buy at lower prices.

Money would flow again all over America. People would be making more money and spending less of it to get by. That means more "disposable" income overall. Prosperity is what it's all about after all. Right?

Top Ten Reasons for decriminalization of Marijuana Number Four

Health care.- How many back pain sufferers are there in America alone? How many thousands of people could benefit from the use of medical marijuana for their own treatment? How many new medical products that will branch off from pharmaceutical research?

Also, if people are allowed to be high on marijuana then the use of other, currently illicit substances will actually drop. And those still not able to stop any substance alone will be able to get help, in a more understanding society, without so much of the "stigma" attached. Who's not admired for being an ex-smoker? Overall addictions themselves would be recovered from throughout American society.

Freedom from the laws against marijuana would also make it reasonably fearless for the true addict to find help, should they want to quit, themselves. You can call the mass recovery my hidden eleventh reason.

Top Ten Reasons for decriminalization of Marijuana Number Three

Stricter health controls.- Illegal marijuana often comes mixed with other harmful, more toxic drugs (laced). Inspections and regulation of legal marijuana would ensure prevention of contamination.

Top Ten Reasons for decriminalization of Marijuana Number Two

Other people's religious freedoms.- Just because I don't see your life the way you do doesn't mean you don't see your life the way you do. Some people just believe differently than others do.

Even I, the Meat Computer, claim my rights to believe the way I do...regardless of where anyone else stands and therefore must respect those same rights of others... ,but especially when they disagree with mine.

Top Ten Reasons for decriminalization of Marijuana Number One

Racism- The original reason that marijuana was classified as "illegal" in the first place, is that back in 1913, more people still believed in the myth(s) of "race" and a general consensus of European-descended government interests, determined to limit the influx of Mexicans into Arizona, by criminalizing marijuana. The original, initial intent to criminalize marijuana, was solely for hateful, mythical, racist belief systems.

Racial differences are not supported by genetic evidence. Humans are humans are humans. Since the initial reasons marijuana was criminalized under a false foundation as being based on racism then shouldn't we also debate the all of supporting logic against legal marijuana?

If said supporting logic was in support of a fiction and myths, then doesn't that alone, make such said support fictional and a myth? There are questions we're not asking ourselves about decriminalizing marijuana, in support of, a consensus, of a societal structure, that hasn't existed in decades.

Everyone Needs To Do Some Tim McGraw Songs Sometimes

Just like it's shared in this topic piece, were tim McGraw ever able to let me say it to him, I'd say thanks. The man's music has pulled so many of us through rough times in our lives. I don't just mean we men, either. The biggest and best of Tim McGraw songs face up to, and ask questions about death, loving, and saying goodbye. These are all topics we each face sometimes.

It's said that Tim McGraw's earlier songs are immature, and even irresponsible, but that might not be the case. Sometimes the energy of youth is mis-viewed as making trouble, noise, or some other socially unacceptable behavior.

Help Haiti - Many Ways to Help by Bridgette Ilene Delaney on AssociatedContent.com

On Tuesday, January 12, 2010, a devastating earthquake hit Haiti. It was measure to be 7.0 on the Richter Scale. The damage that occurred from the earthquake was great. The majority of Port-Au-Prince was completely ruined. Many landmarks were ruined. People were buried in the rubble and the death toll constantly seemed to rise. Many people were also injured and to make things worse, the hospitals were also destroyed. It is estimated that aftershocks will occur for up to two weeks after the initial quake.

No matter what the cause of the quake was, as some may believe it was due to a pact with the devil almost 300 years ago, or one that was more recent, it is time for people to show that they are there to help. Haiti needs help, and no matter what, donating in any way possible is the best way to help.

Remember that the links are the blue words without underlines and they change to black or gray with an underline when the mouse is hovering over the words.

There are the obvious organization that people use to donate, and they are good.

About Haiti: How Hard Is It To give? by Donald Pennington on AssociatedContent.com

Haiti's Been Hit Hard. What's Going on with You?

Is giving donations, such as food, too much of a burden to help Haiti?

Credit: Donald Pennington | © Donald Pennington
How hard is it to give to Haiti? You've just come in from another day's labors. That was two hours ago, really, that you got off work. Since then you've ran the kids around, checked on Dad, dropped two kids off and ran to the store. Still, there's supper to cook. So, when you see the commercial on TV all you think is "They keep playing that same message." You're tired and annoyed.

Then, in the corner of your eye, you see the image come over the television screen, from the news coverage, of a ten year old boy clutching his Mother. The shot switches to a man, whom you'll never meet who just lost all he owned in the world, along with his son and wife. Really. Couldn't you text just one message to donate $5 for the sake of all like that young boy?

How hard is it to give to Haiti? You've been fired. This bites. That new lease was just signed two months ago! Now, just to make sure you and her even have a roof over your head-in this economy, you'll probably need to go to the dept of public welfare. Food stamps suck too. They never give enough and all you can buy with them is...literally...just food.

Why did this have to happen now?...Go here for the rest.

President-issimo Obama...

President Obama: Fix National Healthcare Before It's Broken!

Please read this carefully: I'm no supporter of President Obama. Anyone who's read me over these last couple of years and odd days has seen me publish pieces that rated an occasional angry response. I've called President Obama a various amount of names, along with all other politicians included, unapologetically. None of that changes.

But seeing that real-world Life is sometimes all about making deals with the devil it seems only fitting to try an approach at ensuring that a game played, is a game won. If nationalized health care is going to happen, then I'd like to see it be functional. If we Americans are going to have socialized health care, then we Americans need to show the world, how American health care can be.

Since it's not in my hands to determine how anyone else's world should be, but for mine, then all I'm asking for right now is the opportunity to make one simple (not necessarily easy) suggestion: Make it work. Read on to see exactly how I recommend we do that. First a little back-story Mr. President...Go here for the rest!

Are The Dixie Chicks Splitting Up? by Donald Pennington on AssociatedContent.com

Are the Dixie Chicks Splitting Up?
I like My Dixie Chicks Just like They Are Thank You!

© Donald Pennington

Some time back, country sensation The Dixie Chicks, made a few splashes in the shallow end of the swimming pool by criticizing our then-lubberly President George W Bush-issimo. A few of the waders were told they should be upset by the comments and so
they started splashing back at the Dixie Chicks, especially the beautiful Natalie Maines.

Hah! Betcha didn't know I was a Dixie Chicks fan, did ya? Especially that Natalie Maines!

In my humble (yeah right) opinion, it's Natalie Maines, that made the Dixie Chicks all that they were. Not that Martie McGuire or Emily Robertson are without talent themselves, but that Natalie was the fire brought to the campground. She's the flame that burnt their rear ends.

Is Natalie leaving the Dixie Chicks?...Go here for the rest!

Will Facebook Vampire Wars Make You Weird?

Is Facebook Vampire Wars a Little Too Popular?
Any surfer who has been on Facebook, anytime since the invention of the internet has gotten one; the invitation to play Vampire Wars. Rumors around Facebook even reveal that some surfers are seeing one hundred or more invitations to play Vampire Wars
daily! With as popular as Facebook Vampire Wars is, it doesn't look like the invitations are slowing down anytime soon, either. Let's look at some of the real-world concerns over the fantasy of being the living dead.

Will Facebook Vampire Wars Make You Weird? Joining a sub-culture is not required.

As a fellow Facebook Vampire Wars player myself (Lucient Bog...at your service) the big concern isn't about how to handle all of the invitations, it's the resulting sub-culture, and it's possible effects on our own personalities.

For the most part the crowd that plays the game are pretty friendly. Most of them seem to have lives outside of the game. But it's never the "average" player who develops a problem. There does seem to be a small number of players who seem to take the game a little too seriously. Their profile pics, the hours they keep, and their basic communication seem to reflect someone who really wishes they lived in that world.

Of course, most folks will avoid these people like the plague, once it's realized they're so serious. Even removing a clan member is a step a player might have to take. Well worth it to avoid a stalker. Just stick to folks who are a pleasure to play with.

Will Facebook Vampire Wars Make You Weird? Only if there is an existing mental problem already.

In spite of the fact that Facebook Vampire Wars players are submerging themselves into a game that's all about death, evil, playing with demons, and other nefarious critters, most folks are quite capable of distinguishing fantasy from reality with no problem.

The problem seems to develop for those who might already be struggling with reality, whether that struggle exists because of drugs, or other biological conditions within their brains. Whatever the reason for the original problem itself, these same folks will find themselves getting too deep into any game, regardless.

When all the rage was table-top role playing games, like Dungeons and Dragons, we had folks who thought themselves "fighters" and "magi." According to AllExperts.com, those who seem to have a problem with identifying too much with their player character, are those who suffer from a mental illness which hasn't been stabilized.

For the most part, those who play Facebook Vampire wars have no more unusual cause for concern than, someone who reads a scary Stephen King novel might. Outside of an addiction to playing, most people don't seem to have a personality problem develop from the game, Facebook Vampire Wars merely reveals pre-existing conditions.

The Only Facebook Vampire Wars Cheat I Know by Donald Pennington

The Only Facebook Vampire Wars Cheat In The Game by Donald Pennington
Face Book Vampire Wars Doesn’t Offer Many Cheats. Use This One While It Lasts!

The Facebook version of Vampire Wars Doesn’t offer many cheat codes, does it?

The folks at Zynga most certainly do not offer many cheat codes at all on Facebook Vampire Wars. Since we the players of the game can’t put any coding of our own into the game we have to find other ways to eradicate opposition, make blood, and build minions fast. The strategy is simple: If no one’s stopping you so far, do it!

In trying this over the last few months, only one cheat has come to light for anyone of myself, or my 1100 clan. It’s a simple tool for those of us creatures of the night on the net. You’ll like it.

The one and only Facebook Vampire Wars cheat known to exist…until somebody else finds another:

When a player/character Nosferatu finds another player able to be beaten, and worthwhile in blood, the trick is to rip bat-boy (or girl) to pieces. Needing it to be quick and knowing how slowly Zynga’s Facebook Vampire Wars’ pages can take to load usually pre-empts any real shredding.

Once a worthy victim is found, go to the other player/character’s nocturnal profile, and right-click from the ‘attack’ tab. How many times can you attack someone in a minute? That depends: How many times can you right click, with sufficient rage and health?

Why tear someone apart on Facebook Vampire Wars with a cheat like this?

Picking up two or three million in blood isn’t unheard of in a minute. This is especially true when someone’s lucky enough to find a worthy victim on their first try! We’re not talking about a game where two players want to go picking flowers together. We’re talking about a game wherein players pretend to be a supernatural, mythical, destructive force! Why be nice? There’s plenty of time to leave a “Nuttin’ poisonal!’ on their clan wall after you’ve made the loot! Play Facebook Vampire Wars for real!

What do you do with all of that blood on Facebook Vampire Wars earned from this cheat?

In spite of the bad advice of many un-named players around, banking is still a good idea, compared to being one of the vampires hunted down this way by another. Better to lose 10% once than to be a constant source of entertainment on Facebook Vampire wars! Save it up to buy all the law firms you can by ten at a time! It’s all about the blood on Facebook Vampire Wars!

Are President Obama and Attorney General Holder Trying to Taint the Terrorist Trials? by Donald Pennington on associatedcontent.com

Statements Aired Worldwide by Obama and Holder Are Too Easy of a Defense Tool
According to Yahoo News Both President Obama, and Attorney General Eric Holder have made very public, very candid statements predicting the conviction of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed in what is being called "the 9/11 trials." Are Holder and Obama trying to skew the trial in support
of their anti-American friends?

It seems to some Americans that, a lawyer would know better, than to make any sort of public statement that might give the defense a chance at grounds for appeal. President Obama and AG Holder are both lawyers. Yet these two lawyers did just that, and on a worldwide stage, no less.

What are President Obama and AG Holder trying to do?

In an earlier piece written by AC's own Tony Vega we are asked a very simple question: "Is Barack Obama Anti-American?" (Find it here.) With this recent news of President Obama and AG Holder opening their mouths, when they full well know the repercussions of such actions, even the most ardent supporters of the President...go here for the rest!

Best SEO Practices to Get Traffic to Your Website by Donald Pennington on Factoidz.com

SEO, or Search Engine Optimization, is considered to be the ‘holy grail’ of online marketing. Some folks admit to being a bit confused about SEO methods. That’s understandable. There are so many companies online offering the ‘hottest new thing’, that an online marketer should expect to be confused.

Many of the e-books available on the subject are either just re-hashed SEO tactics from someone else, whose e-book you also bought, or they’re already outdated. Who can a marketer trust these days? You can trust me, that’s who.

Why trust what I share with you about SEO? Because after all, I’m no "SEO guru." I’m just another web writer who’s had the good fortune to learn about SEO from folks that’ve been doing it right for years themselves. There’s no trickery intending to fool web-crawlers (spiders), nor do I use incentives traffic (junk), and there’s no voodoo involved. The only voodoo is that voodoo that you do. I’ve no magic SEO bullet to sell you. All I’d hope for is you share this page on good SEO practices with others by linking here.

Basic SEO works just fine on its own. Basic SEO begins on your site and very few services can offer as effective a service as they might claim. Some are truly good, but even in those cases, website owners are dependant upon the systems that those services use.

So . . . Will you teach me the SEO Shuffle, Don?

You’re durn skippy I will. SEO practices are so easy to do that within just setting up a few pages you’ll be doing these like they’re second nature. So pay attention. There’s an SEO test at the end.
